What we did:
We embraced the open possibilities within the Client´s simple but inspiring briefing: “design a wine named X-berg”. With free hands onwards we texturized the idea with narrative and built an iconic modern wine.
How we did it:
The briefing for this project set forth the task to create from scratch a stand-alone signature wine with the name X-Berg. We looked at the narrative two-ways: on the one hand X-Berg is a shortcut for Kreuzberg (derived from the meaning of Kreuz ("cross”)) - the famous borough of Berlin, heavily adorned by street graffiti and underground culture; on the other hand, the meaning of Berg (“mountain”) lent itself as an opportunity to be used as a powerful visual reference.
We anchored the conceptual development within both of these referents to create the strong visuality of the label. A striking X, splashed as freehand graffiti, debossed into a rugged, open structure paper, contours the silhouette of a mountaintop. The play of texture, visuality and symbolism render this label a suitable accent point for a modern, intriguing signature wine.
